Hi all, would i need a centre support on the rear window of a rover sd1 to stop the lexan from bouncing or sinking in the middle. If i do need one will a strip of alloy be ok straight down the middle?? :) rich

Take your lexan (oversize)

Lay it on top of your rear screen and heat it wilt a hot ait gin until it takes the shape of the rear screen

Let it cool and trim the edges to fit

Screw into place - the external curve should not be able to "cave in" - works for GT40's above hot engines

I have perspex in my SD1 rear screen 3mm thick by memory.

I change the screen every 3 years or so due to scratching. The current screen is holding its shape ok (flat), but the previous one started caving in around the centre so I fitted two T-section lengths of aluminium rod underneath to hold it up (on the inside of the screen not outside NASCAR style).

And yes, I use the original rubber seal and chrome filler strips.
