I think competition is 4mm but you could easily use 3mm if nothing you do is scrutineered.

Cheers for Sunday.

Ian

PS. Two PB's but then they were my first two runs ever

Take the lexan and use an offcut

Get a big baby bath thing and mix up some Dyola fabric dye (your choice on colour)

Stick in the offcut
give it a few minutes and check the tint
If not dark enough stick it back in

Take the total submerged time

Then use this time for your pieces you need to use - you can make it darker but not get the stuff lighter again

Plenty of suppliers, but no cheap ones, dont get mixed up with perspex and lexan, totally 2 different materials.

OK got to 'fess up. :(

My company supplies both Acrylic(Perspex) and Polycarbonate(Lexan). We can only supply rectangular shapes off the panel saw until we get our CNC router. Not sure of our competitiveness against national suppliers but if someone wants to give me some sizes then I'll TRY to give a good price to Forum members (and if not you can all talk about me behind my back later :( ).

The problem is you need to buy in multiples of half sheets

The full sheet sizes for 4mm Polycarb are

PC 000 Clear 4mm
3050 X 2050
2440 X 1220
2050 X 1525

Half sheet sizes are

PC 000 Clear 4mm
1525 X 2050
1220 X 1220
1025 X 1525

Use Polycarb for motorsport and Acrylic for cheap mirrored bedroom ceilings.

If you can't make a half or full sheet then get together for a group buy. We cut to size free of charge (rectangular only).

Hope this helps

Ian

Good thing to get into is light covers and windows for GT40s

Need to heat mold them into a small curve though!
