Stag bonnet with a bulge

Post by russ spake »

Hi, anyone know where I can buy a Stag bonnet with a bulge to fit my car which has a Rover V8 fitted, or a reasonably priced manifold/carb/filter set to give the required clearance for a standard bonnet? Thanks. Russ

dunno about a bonnet with a bulge, but you could retrofit a bulge to your existing bonnet. I have to do something similar for my MGB, as fitted with a RV8 they have similar clearence issues.

Alternatively you can get complete manifold/carb sets, often from ebay. Think the lowest manifold is the Offenhauser, and with a Weber/Edelbrock 500 carb should fit ok, although you're looking at 500+ sheets new. I think RPi and V8 Tuner do them as kits.

dont see one in there parts list - but they were nice to talk to last time I dealt with them..

something different - 'shaker scoop' or see the likes of the mustang sites, 'cos they do bolt on bulges ..
but the Stags are a nice shape, I would tend to go for a low manifold as previously said..

Offenhauser manifold and Holley carb will fit under standar bonnet with pancake filter.

All you need to do is move the bar under the bonnet forward slightly.

Thats what I have been told and plan to do on mine.
It's taken longer than I thought !!
