Welding needed.

My SD1 requires a rear wing replaced (rust). I have a new panel. Despite lots of practice I simply can't make a good fist of welding thin stuff.

All the body shops round here want an arm an leg to do the work. Can anyone recommend a good but reasonable one not too far from SW London?

I'm happy to remove the old one myself, and have it painted elsewhere.

Hi
what sort of kit have you? Mig? if you want to try a tig set, it is vastly more controlable and puts much less heat into a panel, if you want to try you would be very welcome to come over here and have a go. Alternativly if it is pretty simple I can try, I am not a profesional, but I can weld down to 1mm on lap and corner welds and about 1.2mm for butt welds, I'm not quick but happy to try, and yes I will do a a few practice pieces first and let you judge if they are good enough without taking any offence if you think they are not :D .
Best regards
Mike
