Hi guys. Murray Arnold here. I'm from Scotland and have lived in Croatia for 21 years. I love classic cars and back in 2012 I bought my first V8. A 73 mgbgt from Mercury motorsports near Kirkcaldy in Scotland. My wife and I drove it from Scotland to Croatia via the French riviera, Venice and down the Croatian coast to Split. I absolutely love the v8. Its a standard crate 150 Hp motor, so I'm told, with a 4 barel Holly carb which made starting and driving so much better than the standard twin SU set up. I removed the SUs from the V8, my TR6 and my morris minor. Just not for me. No no no.

Rolls Royce fitted SUs to their V8 - and they don't own SU, unlike BL so had the choice of any.

I found the Twin SU set up on both my triumph and MG very restrictive. And having to play around with the choke was simply annoying. I installed triple 40 webbers. Wow. Tirn the key, no choke and off she goes. Great. 4 barel Holly on the V8. Again a simple tug of the choke and starts effortlessly. I still have the original set up. I guess I should sell it. Someone may want it. I recomend that anyone running SU carbs should consider something else. But thats just my personal choice
