Welcome to the mad house.

Nice XKR, I'm unfortunate to be inflicted with a BL Allegro, or as Jaguar would call it an F Type

Thanks for the replies.

Looked at a F type, but partially disable wife couldn't get in it, besides the nominal rear seats allow for her car portable mobility buggy to break down with 2 pieces in boot and 2wrapped in a quilt on the rear seats, so she can still come out for the day in it.

No chance of that in a F regretfully.

Seriously I would stay well away from the F Type, the build quality is appalling.

Local dealer identified 2 misalligned panels in addition to the to the 2 I found. The passenger door has a 12mm misalignment and the bonnet is out by about the same amount.

The wind noise from the drivers door starts at 25mph and just gets worse, at 70mph it starts to get painfull as it hits a resonance frequency.

The wheel alignment appears to be set using elastic bands, worst measurement I've had so far is +1.24 toe on the right front. Again the local dealer wouldnt believe me that the car was pulling violently to the right under braking and was twitchy at any speed. Ended up taking it to an independent BMW specialist.

Dont think we have time to discuss the miriad of electrical issues.

3 days in the local dealer and it came back no different despite the dealer being adamant they'd fixed it. Jaguar dont seem interested so its the first and last Jag I'll ever own.

I'm just about to trade in my Jag XF for a Kia(!) Electrical weirdness, cracked wheels, cracked windscreen and truculent windows took the shine off having a 5L V8.

Sorry, didn't mean to turn your thread into a Jag bashing one. My XF would be really nice if it actually worked as well as it looked.

Had an XF-S Sportbrake before, no issues. Only issue with the XKR was a battery failure, meaning roof would not drop on a Saturday morning before a magazine photoshoot on the Monday. Sorted by dealer with no appointment and on a Saturday as well.
