Don't worry Mike I'll still be here.
But the only difference from Rover Challenge days is that I'm now using the road diff which is an unlocked 3.54 ratio. I used to race with a locked 3.7 diff when the car was running mid to low 13'2 and the odd 12.9. However I am also using the same tyres ....So there is a temptation next year to swap the diff, buy some sticky new tyres and put some nitrous on - then try for a quick time before the gearbox/diff/halfshafts break!!
Oh heck - have I just talked myself into next year??  :D

Just to update this, I checked the choke size in the 36 IDFs and they are only 30mm - which is great for the street and did well on the strip but are a bit small for any quicker times .....So I now have a set of quad 40IDFs with 32mm chokes (but could go to 34s - or even 36s?). These are being installed and I may go to a Pod RWYB in Oct. The car is also going to the NEC on the Midget and Sprite club display so I am needing to smarten it up!

To update
I have now installed quad 40 IDF webers and busy sprucing up the Sprite ready for the NEC. The underbonnet area is being tidied up and I have a new (Well good S/H MX5) seats to put in. The car is also going to be resprayed.
I am also fitting the Falcon Alloys as I have a pair of 6" wide rims for the back axle that needed redrilling to Ford PCD. This has been done and I have a pair of Toyo R888 to replace my old - Very old! rear tyres.
Could be that I want to run quicker again......

Well it has been a long time since I was on this site and a lot has been happening.....but I still have the "Super Sprite V8"!
A house move, part time job finish, car storage re location, various car sales and the odd purchase has meant no time to do any work on the Sprite since it went to the NEC......but one day I will extricate it from the garage and see if it still goes!
