mk3 Capri with 302 ?

Post by 350moggy »

Hi Has anyone on here done the ford 302 with manual box into a mk 3 Capri ? I am currently running a 2.9 24v lump in mine but spares are almost impossible to come by so I thought I may as well go for what I have always really wanted ! :D
So any hints or tips would be most appreciated
Cheers Richie

I know a 302-T5 falls into a early Mk1 capri without cutting, even the gear lever comes out in the right place, thats once the rad has been repositioned inside the front panel, It took all of literally 15mins to have the engine/box mocked up, originally the mk1 was going to go RV8, hence the rad allready being moved.

Ford kinda did it on the MK1 in South Africa http://www.fordcapri.co.uk/mk1/specials/perena.htm. Cant see it being hugely different on the MK3.

Thanks for the responses guys, its early days yet as I'm still thinking about it but the more I think the more an 8 makes sense :D
I am liking the idea of a 302 although I think a rover may be more accessible !! ( economical !! :) )

As always any communications are welcome

Thanks again and hope to see some of you out and about this summer

Demo 2 Have you got olly out there with you at the minute ?? Ask him to bring me a v8 back with him duty free if possible !!

Personally, I would be going for the 302, Not that I have anything agains rhe RV8, but you will pay the earth to get a reliable 300hp, and its a breeze to get 300hp++ out of a 302.
