Is there space to extend the tubes slightly to let the filters be more outboard? If it's done well you won't see the difference.
As for performance, I think you will be good in that department.
You have done a great job, I think.

There is plenty room to move them down and out. I'll see how it goes then take it from there. It's below zero where I live today - need all the heat we can get

It shouldnt be too difficult to upload a MAFless tune with EFILive, and it should offer a little extra power.
Would free up a little space for the air filter, and simplify plumbing
