making or using SD1 egine mount

can anyone tell me if they have done a rv8 change into TR7 using standard subframe ? if so how/what did you use to make the subframe engine mounts ? at £500 quid for TR8 subframe is a bit/lot out of my price range . well I could do with ideas please or its got to be TR8 one as I haven't seen any second hand ones on Ebay . I can weld ( ex fabricator welder / mechanic ) and just bought a more powerful mig . didmt know if SD1 brackets could be adapted and welded on ?? cheers john
