Saturday 27th March in Milton Keynes

A mate of mine has organised a RR day at my mates place in Bletchley...Some of you have been before...

There will be about 4 MG's from the Northants MG Owners club taking part. He was hoping to get 10 runners. But I guess a lot of these MG guys think they will blow the engines up on the dyno. FFS its just a few seconds at WOT???

I've managed to get a mate with his MGB V8 and another MG mate who wants to run his Toyota Yaris on the rollers. I'll bung my MG on if its still in one piece as well.

So thats 6 confirmed runners. We need a minimum of 10 cars to get the "good deal" that my mate Martin will do for me. Normally he charges £40 + vat. But I can get £35 per car with no vat for cash notes on the day. This includes all the tea and coffee we can consume + a couple of tickets for free burgers from the BBQ...

So I need at least 4 more cars on the 27th March.

I have had a special request from the Northants MGOC to see if a certain Skoda could be on site for dyno runs?? God knows why :)

I'm going to punt this idea over on the Wizards of Nos forum as well to see if a few mates will come and join in??

So lets get this mutha going and put some V8's on the rollers shall we??

If I can get 10 or more cars on the rollers it will be £35 per car cash on the day with the food and drink thrown in.

I'll be on site to welcome folk and to take names and arrange the running order.

Can we get 2-4 V8's from here for this event?

Let me know asap please..

Could be tempted to pop down in the van (it needs a good run), and observe/have a natter. Not keen on putting it on the rolling road as of yet, gearbox needs a service first

And there was me thinking that RR's were set into the ground with concrete.
Regardless of how many wheel drive it is could you ask your mate to drive it down to Plymouth so that I can see what my motor is making Perry

Free tea and biscuits all day.

cheers
Paul

For some daft reason I decided to do a body-off restoration on the Dakar - it needs to be ready for the end of April when I'm taking it on a local historic car rally.
If I have some spare time that day I'll wonder over with the VXR8 and see what it's pushing out instead.

Kev !
Its a 4 wheel drive dyno as Eliot knows.

Can I start a quick list off attendee's please. We only need 3-4 runners to make the numbers up.
These are the chaps who are already booked in.

1. Perry MGB V8
2. Alan MGB V8
3. Stu Simons Yaris
4. Rob with the Skoda Fabia (Possible) please advise asap.???
5. MG member
6. MG member
7. MG member
8. Kev with the V8 Disco
9. Eliot with the VXR8 (possible) please advise asap ??

Any more for anymore???

Mr Anderson!! Where are you???
We are nearly there. I'm going to pop over to the Wizards forum now to see if we can get 2-3 nitrous cars on site as well.

Hi Stu!!

You mean attending as in paying for a go on the dyno?? Its £35 cash if you dont want a receipt. Normally £45 + vat.

Auto box aint an issue mate. My MG is 3 speed auto... I run it in 3rd for the power pass...

If you want it on the rollers you just tell Martin exactly what you want regarding max rpm for the test. I always tell him to go no more than 6000 with mine.

Do you disconnect the kickdown at all perry?

Only reason i ask is mines a 700r4 and has the funky TV cable setup (which needs to be attached). Could it be run in 2nd?, no idea if it will change up to 4th when hammered in 3rd or kickdown into 2nd for that matter.

cheers!
