Sort of new PB I guess??

Post by mgbv8 »

I Took the MG out a week or so back and did some test runs on the blower. At 7 psi of boost with gentle pedal off the line she made an 11.9 pass with poop mph. My old nasp pb was 13.6 so I'm quite happy with this right now. The blower can make 16 psi if required so I might try to spool this up a bit more..

If all goes well this year I hope to make a good attempt at 9 seconds at the Pod ;)

Respect 8)

I'd like a parachute and one day when the little tw@t in the Saxo that regularly tries to climb in my boot at the end of the dual carriageway does it again; I could trigger it.

He'd need new undercrackers then

I spent some time at the Pod today tweaking ign timing and got it down to 11.7's still running the 7psi of boost. 60 foots were ok at 1.7 and 1.8 seconds. But I need more power off the line now. :)

While I'm waiting for new blower pulleys to arrive to give me more boost I thought i'd go and play at Noth weald yesterday.

I had to smoke the slicks up real hard to get some grip. But traction was an issue for everyone on the concrete. I stuck a 100 shot on top of the blower and made the good mph again. But ET's were not so good. At least it shows I have some extra push for the last half of the track. The best run of the day was 11.0 @ 126.5 mph. And I left 200 feet of black lines behind me when the light went green

I reckon this setup would give me a 10.5 at the Pod so i could get back to where i was in 2009 before all the engine trauma ??

I sort of want to leave it as is for the Retro Show but the new pulleys will be with me on Friday and my dyno man says i can pop over at 10am Saturday to spend the day on the rollers doing some testing. All i need to do now is e jet the carb and I'm good to go.

If she survives the dyno with 1 bar of boost I'll be happy :) And I will have a base tune to work from for the Retro weekend when I'll no doubt be chucking some gas in on top :)
