today i turned the gas back on and went for some shakedowns.

Long story short!!

Not a big improvment over my old 10.29 PB. But I'm still happy that I ran 10.23 today with a stiff headwind. 8)

Thanks Stevie!!

It was by accident or fluke really. We got some runs in on the blower and decided to put the gas back on. My old tps from the holley 600 doesnt fit the dominator carb. So we ripped the purge button out of the dash and lashed it up with tape and wires to give me a fly lead.

I set the nitrous contoller to a soft setting and went for my 4th run. I launched in 1st and then hit the button. When the nitrous hit the car lurched right so i had to grapple the steering wheel for a second. In this time I had managed to let go of the button, so I shifted to 2nd and pushed the button again. She lit up really well and I managed to keep the button in for the rest of the pass.

I think if I had my tps fitted so I could activate gas on the pedal I may have gained another 0.1 or even 0.2 over the pass. I'm now more confident that on the next day out I may run 10.1 or even a flat 10 on the way to my 9 second goal :)

i'm still a way off finding out what the final tune for this engine will be. But I'm sure with another 2 days on track I may get it dialled in.

With only 0.24 of a second standing between me and that 9 second timing ticket I'm getting quite excited now :)

If I can get my 60 foot back down to low 1.4's I feel I'm in with a good shot at that elusive 9 8)

As they say, every 0.1s off your 60ft will equate to 0.2s off the total ET.

And in general, it is a pretty damn accurate assessment.

Funny you should say that Stevie!

I was chatting to the race director at Pod today and he said the same thing. "Expect 2 to 2.5 times the reduction in 60 foot time off your ET"

More than 2x is being optimistic. But 2x is pretty accurate ( assuming a proper run with no muck ups of course )

I'll be happy with that equation Stevie ;)

If i can shave 0.1 off my 60 foot I'll be happy with 0.2 quicker on my ET next time out ;)

Perry

Cheers Del!

I'm confident that theres a 10.1 in this tune from the weekend. I'm going to concentrate on doing the best I can with this tune before I up the nitrous back to the 150 shot I used to run.

And heres a slo mo of a fluffed launch.

She hooks up just fine. Then i hit the button and gas gas comes in whichs lifts the front off the deck, then i slip off the button and dump a load of fuel in before I can get back on the button for a reasonable pass.

Was it really worth lifting off the gas ? Looked like you could have held it on just fine ? Was only one wheel after all...although maybe feels a lot more inside the car ?

And what tyre pressures ? When I used mine, my tyres looked almost flat ( although guess they were at near 10psi lol )

Although TBH, not really sure tyre pressures made a huge difference. Had tried various from 10-25psi ( hot )
Although usually ran in the 12-15psi range.
