I'd be raging. Fuel hose is supposed to keep fuel on the inside !

If it was maybe 25...30...35 years old then maybe I could understand

Hopefully a different type of hose this time ! lol

I'd usually have blamed people for fitting them incorrectly etc...but the guys who had hose leaked, wasnt even leaking at the fittings, the hose itself must have been falling apart everywhere lol

There is a thread on locostbuilders.co.uk all about fuel hose and degradation. Might be of use.

Strange what he is saying about Gates.

I've used Gates on cars for years and never had an issue, and all of it has always been marked Gates.
And that's just buying it at a local factors. TBH I wouldnt buy unmarked rubber hose for anything critical like EFI fuel lines.

Other uses not an issue, but where proper hose is needed it needs to be correct.

Obviously with the overbraid types you need to trust the source, but I really cant see any point in buying nitrile rubber braided hose covered in stainless..
It really does serve no purpose vs ordinary type rubber hose. And oddly seems to be of very poor quality.

If going stainless, always go teflon. And fortunately now some places sell it with a black outer covering so you dont have to suffer the ( and abrasive ) bare stainless !

That must feel good!
Well done, mate. Especially with the setbacks and hassles you experienced. They must have really tested your sense of humour at times.
