That the 6L with the really good heads isn't it?
What Class/classes are you thinking of running in?
Best regards

It's got the 317 castings on it which are pretty good as standard, I like the idea of the l92 / ls3 rectangle heads but it tends to get a bit pricey once you add the new manifold and rocker arms into it. As to a class it would be rwyb or outlaw street at most

cleaned up the heads with a hot wash at bobharman.com then I scraped the leftover carbon off and jet washed them. I put new stem seals in and lapped the valves in

me trying to get the motor mount plates in
Image[/img]
Image[/img]
i detected roughly a 3 degree incline toward the rear on the front mount tubes so now I am trying to 'degree' the mid plate and cut tube to tack in, i'm wondering if it would be easier to have the plates bolted to the engine and have it supported in the chassis?

Hi
if you bolt the engine between the plates you can use the main cap bolt holes to mount a flat piece of metal across the crank center line and then use a cheep laser level on it's tripod to fire an aligning dot at the axle center (or three degrees bellow it), it is then very easy to get everything lined up that way. This is how I did my engine lined up in the dragster and it is easy to get it lined up in a way you feel confident with.

I hope to use the truck manifolds my engine came with to keep the costs down, ha ha, so I slapped my front plate on with a head to see where the exhaust manifolds were going, as it turns out they would be exiting in the mid plate so I am going to face them forward. Hopefully with some trimming of the front plate and possibly v bands on the ends it should all fit together nicely.......

Stick at it. Are the shafts 31 spline?

There are some nice bits there to look at ;)

Well done JJ.
