The MGB will live again soon :)

Post by mgbv8 »

Next Thursday I collect my repaired engine block from Dave Knight of Knight Engine Services near Towcester.

Dave has removed my 100,000 mile liners and welded up all the missing block metal from last July's big meltdown and will be fitting top hat liners + line boring etc !!

Dave has already sorted my 4.6 heads by welding up all the blow holes and melted areas around the compression chambers where the head gaskets let go in July and blew a good bit of ally away. They look like brand new heads now. Only took 2 hours for me to lap the valves back and re assemble.

I thought the heads were scrap. But £180 later they are good to go again for the 2012 race season.

I'll try top get some pics uploaded to show the block before and after the refurb at the end of the week.

If all goes well I'll be back on track running low 10's as the starting point for 2012.
