Ford leaf spring bushes, these are transit ones, cheap and cheerful on ebay!

Here's how the chassis looks at the moment, axles fitted properly now, all major welding etc complete, crank nose is being machined to accept the BBF front pulley, flywheel adapter is being drilled so once back I'll re-assemble the engine!

Looking good, there.
You do realise you will probably benefit from one of those little reversing cameras on the front bumper to give you forward vision from your perch at the other end of the vehicle.......  :?:
That is going to be one loooong bonnet! Love it.

I did consider it- or a bonnet mirror!

So- today I managed to actually put a few hours in and brought the head down to my workshop, where I milled the 15mm thick flanges to suit the head (I drilled and tapped 2 extra holes for the ends), I milled the 2" carb flanges last week, so I turned a taper to suit both on the lathe, made a template up and cut the 1.5mm pieces before annealing them which made them incredibly easy to bend around the former. Then it was just a case of welding the tubes up, making the 2 ends and then fettling the 2 middle ones to fit. A long day and lots of welding but worth it! I do still have to make the plenum of course which is going to be HUGE..!!!

Don't forget your balance pipes.

What is the firing order?

Chris.

Cheers Mike, planning on making a tapered plenum with 4" inlet at the front to feed them, Chris- as it's blown do I really need balance pipes between inlets? Wasn't planning on bothering.

Right then, getting married- done, moving in- done, projects- far from done!

Back to reality, can someone tell me if the crank position sensor is supposed to sit like the first or second picture? The flex plate is from a late 4.0 RV8.

First picture, but with the pip of the sensor between the two lugs on the flywheel.

Chris.

Thanks Chris, I didn't realise the RV8 ones had a probe that sticks out, I'll be using megajolt or Nodiz, can I use a proper RV8 sensor or should a Ford one work that everyone seems to use for aftermarket systems?

What's the trigger teeth configuration on your flywheel?

Ah - that's good. Had a horrible thought it might be something else since you're thinking of using EDIS.
