I would really doubt any new bearings are required, save your money.

If he has used Ford Racing parts or OEM Ford crownwheel etc, you shouldnt need any new shims. I've plenty here anyway. Although I think they're only like $15-20 for a pack.

Fairly sure I've a used one here I'll probably never use again. Although at the price of a new one....is nice to buy new, comes with a new pinion nut as well which strictly speaking you're supposed to replace ( although Ive just loctited mine plenty of times )

The axles are pretty simple.

have taken off the caltracs today etc
and fitted another set of springs for trial run and no vibration now,
SO it's down to the caltrac setup for some reason :(
