Advice needed on water pump mod

Post by asam_x »

Hi all. Does anyone know if the V8 short nose water pump nose and shaft can somehow be made shorter? Or is there a nose or pump readily available? Thanx

Real Steel used to do a very short nosed pump for V8 kit cars.
I have one on my own little wagon and it works a treat.
am out in garage tonight so will measure up from mounting face to end of shaft for you and post info up later.

cheers

Real Steel down in Uxbridge used to supply them an would think they still do.
Its a kit car pump and they would know which unit you are on about when you call.

Exactly which pump do you have and how short is it ?

I know I just whacked the nose off mine with a grinder. It would never be an actual short pump though, they're all pretty long

If a 'special' is expensive, might an electric one be an option?
