After some help and a second opinion

Post by Coops »

Hope to have some parts to play with next week,
I'm asking a favour from anyone on here if possible,
Maybe next weekend if someone could check with me measuring the pushrod length to make sure its correct? before I go ahead and have them ordered from the states,
Being over cautious.

What's the setup, and what is adjustable ?

Do you have a pushrod checker as a dummy to test ?

Ultimately you want to end up with a wipe pattern on the valve tip as central and small as possible.
That indicates all geometry is correct.

Not even sure how you measure without doing some sort of test ?

I guess main complication with hydraulic...is the lifter bleeding down ( or not being pumped up ) when testing.
More of an issue if actual valve springs are in use vs light checker springs.

LS write up, but same odds.

after chatting to my engine tuner (Dale) and a few of you guys on here/facebook etc
I've now contacted Paul at V8tuner about sending me a solid flat tappet cam and lifters, instead of going the hydraulic cam route,
so this should be a lot easier to set the pushrod length now
