I doubt I'll have the Cobra ready for this, but I'd turn up to watch, gossip, eat burgers, etc. :-)

I'll have a go as long as the date doesnt clash with a RWYB challenge day at the Pod ??

Hi Coops
like Perry the RWYB challenge days have priority but I am game for a trip up to Shakey. In my case, owing to the low speed nature of the trailer when towed it would be good if could stay over the night before at Shakey rather than having to get up at 3 am to make it up there in time. Don't mind if the event is on a Saturday as I can take the day off before hand.
Best regards

I have been asked to map out some ideas by the organisers,

So what do we/you want to do?
just pair us and rwyb,
or make it a mini competition with the forum cars?

Hi
Ian Shakey is just outside Stratford upon Avon, Long Marston airfield to be precise.
Coops
for me an in club competition using sportsman ET type rules would be most fun say 3 rounds qualifying then best 4 into a straight knock out over 3 rounds. However not sure if they will be able to get that organized
Otherwise just do it on handicap start and most first across the line without breaking out, say over 4 rounds, again sportsman tree and most first places wins.
Best regards

Hello Mr Mole
a pro tree, usually used at the pod on RWYB days has the 2 staging lights up top, when lit the amber's all come on at once and within 4 sec then within .4 of a second that the green lights and off you go (well in my case sometime a little while later  ).
On a sportsman tree once you have lit the staging lights within 4 second the first amber comes on then within .2 of a second the second amber comes on .2 later the third and .2 after that the green comes on (I think that is the timings anyway) the important thing is that the amber's come on one after the other not all at once this makes it easier to accurately predict the green coming on and lets you better guess your launch so you can get closer to a zero reaction time and be more consistent. If you are doing off set launches (handicapped) it is easier to get a good launch and the race then is about being consistent and not breaking out. . . .so you are more likely to get the two cars crossing the finish line together.
Best regards

I'm so law-abiding I wait for the green anyway. Mind you it does help to have a 17 year-old in the other lane in his mother's Volvo 240 estate :D

I'd like to come but I'm not sure what state the Healey is going to be in as I can officially announce that the feasibility and concurrent build for Bonneville Speed Week 2015 has now started :D

Been chatting with Jerry on and off today while at work and he has come up with a few ideas,
Jerry Cookson Shakespear County Raceway:

If you want to make it a weekend affair then no problem.

Racing wise we can run a Quickest of the Bunch Time Trial or a heads up knock out elimination.

At scrutineering we can give you a unqiue RWYB prefix and number which will be good for the 2014 season.
That way if we do an elimination race or time trial we can id your forum members and present you with a full excel timing sheet at the end.

The dates Mike and I cant make will be:

26 Jan, 23 Feb, 22 Mar, 5 APR, 3 May, 21 June, 5 july, 16 Aug, 27 sept and 11 OCT.

I'll prob be away for a weeks hol in august as well??

I'm easy with whatever rules etc as long as I can get timing slips for any runs I do. I'm only racing myself and the clock :)
