Forum Downtime By Vortech

Post by Coops »

Just got an email from Vortech,
not sure if its one of the servers we are on BUT just in case a prior warning of possible downtime this weekend,
On Saturday the 19th we will be doing routine maintenance on NT47. This will bring the server down for 2-3 hours (it may take longer). This will start at Midnight EST.

Vortech have just emailed me again informing its users that they are now going to be working on another server along side the above server,
which may also affect us,
Hello All,

We're also going to be doing routine maintenance on NT49 at the same time as NT47 which is Saturday night at Midnight through Sunday around 4 am EST. This is to alleviate IIS from dropping.

Just had an email from Vortech:

Hello everyone,

On Saturday, October 10, at 11pm EDT (UTC-4) the following servers will be down for a few hours:

nt4.hsphere.cc
nt5.hsphere.cc
nt7.hsphere.cc
nt11.hsphere.cc
On Sunday, October 11, at 11pm EDT (UTC-4) the following servers will be down for a few hours:

nt15.hsphere.cc

We are hoping to have the servers down for no more than a few hours and will let you know when the maintenance for the night has ended. Please pass this information down to your clients so that they are aware of the downtime happening next weekend. Thank you for your time and have a
great weekend!

Just keeping everyone posted 8)

Sorry to all who have not been able to post today.

After vortechs server maintenance my account got deleted some how,
then the NT11 server crashed and lost all the backups,
at 1am this morning i gave as they were trying to get us onto a new server, and went to bed,
was then up at 5am to upload all the site files before i went to work,
and my fault i missed a file that stopped every one from posting,
but only having 4hrs sleep then up to try and get us back on line before i went to work was stupid,

But fingers crossed now sorted,
if you find anything missing please shout and the error message it throws up.

Sorry about the outage on Friday 25th March 2011,
this was out of my control and knew nothing of the problem until i tried to log on to the forum at work via my phone,
the problem was due to a server upgrade overnight to a faster machine, everything went as it should except no permissions were given to the forum when it was transferred across to the new server, so it was not there as such, but it really was, the web sites were fine though.

i contacted Vortech through out the day and the problem was resolved ASAP, Josh was a great help that end.
sorry if any of you were like a lost limb with out the forum, but we should see virtually (not 100%) no outages for the for seeable future (fingers crossed eh!)
