PM Probs

Post by Coops »

had a few mails now saying that a few members are not recieving, or knowing they have PM's.
you should get a pop up window if you have a new PM while in the forum browsing or when you login, if you dont please check your internet and security settings and see if you have a pop up blocker, if so allow pop-ups from the forum,

another thing, make sure your inbox, sent box etc in the PM pages
http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/privmsg.php?folder=inbox are not full, if they are 95% or more then please delete some messages,

Just to add:
The popup is optional, it's in your profile. When you visit the forum, a window will pop saying you have PM. Assuming no blockers as T says...

You should receive an email when a PM is sent, if 'notify' is set to yes. This could poss get lost in spam filters/certain email settings etc, and of course email isn't 100% reliable.

In general, the PM seems to work fine.

Had a problem PMing someone this morning - gave me a "you cannot post so soon after another one" or something like that, but seemed to be related to a thread rather than a PM? Happened 3 times in a row, then sent the PM no worries! Just thought I'd let you know!
