Logging in with different browsers

Post by TimoV »

Hi,

I seem to have problems logging in with Firefox. When logging in, everything goes just about right and the forum opens, but the bugger won't log in :?:

No problems with Exploder, however...

This is the first forum I encountered this problem - so far. Weird!

Only thing I can think of is cookie settings. The actual logging on happens on the server, nothing to do with your machine. But the "remember me" bit is cookie based which Image your machine.
F'fox works fine for me. Suggest checking yr privacy/cookie type settings,
HTH

Exploder logs in fine, both manually and through the "remember me"-setting.

Firefox - no way! Really weird. I just gets back to this page over and over again: http://www.v-8.org.uk/forum/login.php?r ... eply&t=285

F'fox settings ought to be fine - checked 'em! Cookies are enabled and working for other forums. Could it be anti-virus software? But why only on this forum? Geez...

Just tested FFox 2, also OK. If the browser settings aren't preventing anything, next one to look at would be firewall / anti-virus. Would suspect the browser first though. Maybe there's specific permissions in the firewall for FFox.

S..t, I can't find the problem.
Firefox 2.0 just won't log in - in no way imaginable.

Do I have to humble myself and use the Exploder.... :?

...could this be a firewall or router problem at your end?

Cheers,

Ian

Dunno,

Just logged in, WITH F'fox. At last. I did nothing differently. Didn't change the settings or mess with firewalls... ***tune of Halloween playing in my head***

Well, a pleasant surprise, though! :P

Thanks, everybody anyway! :D

Regards,

I have been having the same with Firefox 2.0. To sort it, go to tools>clear private data and select cookies in the items you want to clear (make sure you are happy doing this!!!). Sorted itself out then.

I have just switched to FF and love it. Bit early to tell, but this forum is the only one I have had logging in probs with so far.
