Mk3 Capri was 3.9 , NOW 4.6 v8 efi & N2o injected.

The Car:
Well it is a 1986 Mk3 Ford Capri Laser,
which has been modified to take a Rover 3.9 efi V8 and Sherpa 5 speed gearbox,
it has a sports twin exhaust system, special made 2 piece prop,
with 2.8i Capri Lsd Axle with cosworth discs (vented and cross drilled) with granada cosworth vented calipers,
bilstien front struts with 316mm discs (vented and cross drilled) and Brembo alloy progressive 4 pot calipers,
powersteering rack from 2.8i Capri which is mated up to the Rover powersteering pump,
Home made axle location kit, and uprated 2.8i anti roll bars with poly
bushes fitted through out the whole car,
and to finish the chassis of is a set of 16" monza alloy wheels,

The Engine:
Its the latest rover stiff block design (not 4 bolt mains version),
has a Crower 50233 high lift cam with Crane hi-rev lifters (hydrualic),
Chrome molly adjustable push rods, and steel duplex vernier timing gears,
ARP mains studs, ARP big end studs and ARP head studs,
home built hybrid hotwire/twin plenum efi with VEM's fully mappable ecu,
JR race induction filter, Stage3 V8Dev ported and polished big valve heads,
Factory oil pump with high pressure spring, a FSE high pressure fuel regulator,
lightened flywheel with a AP-Racing green spring clutch
and a Highpower 200i Nitrous Oxide kit with progressive nitrous controller. (100 bhp)
Mallory Unilite dizzy, Mallory Hyfire VI Digital Multi Strike Ignition Control and Mallory Promaster Coil,

The Inside:
Standard Capri except for rear seats removed a Saftey Devices 6 point roll cage fitted,
Battery moved to the boot,
Recaro half leather front seats,
ripspeed steering wheel,
Autometer 5" Sport Comp rev counter/shift light and line loc for front brakes,
VEMS egt/af gauge (air/fuel ratio and exhaust gas temp)

Hi, Just joined the forum, noticed your in Newbury! I'm in Thatcham! Do you know of any good pub meets in the local area? Would like to take a look at your car.
I have a long way to go with my 3.9 '72 Manta to get near the power yours is putting out! Nice car!

Hi Paul,
Im not actually in Newbury, i live about 10miles north,
not much happens round Newbury car meet wise mate,
they have car meets in Didcot once a month at the wally arms,
when the next one is on will give you a shout.

Best i update this baby:

The Car:

it has a sports twin exhaust system with built in X pipe,
special made 2 piece prop,
with an Andy Robinson Race Cars prepared 8.8 mustang Lsd Axle with cosworth discs (vented and cross drilled) with granada cosworth vented calipers,
Caprisport front coilover conversion with Spax adjustable inserts with 316mm discs (vented and cross drilled) and Brembo alloy progressive 4 pot calipers,
powersteering rack from 2.8i Capri which is mated up to the Rover powersteering pump,
Home made axle location kit, and poly bushes fitted through out the whole car,
and to finish the chassis off is a set of 17" 5 spoke alloy wheels,

The Engine:
The engine is a new crate block, that has been tophat linered and 4.0 pistons fitted to raise the comp ratio over 11:1 cr ,
and then the whole rotating assembly been fully lightened and balanced by V8 developments of spalding.
Crower 50233 high lift cam with Rhoads hi-rev lifters (hydrualic),
Chrome molly adjustable push rods, and steel duplex vernier timing gears,
New serpentine front end, (dizzy version),
ARP head studs, home built hybrid hotwire/twin plenum efi with VEM's fully mappable ecu, controlling fuel and ignition,
JR race induction filter, Stage3 V8Dev ported and polished big valve heads,
Factory serp oil pump with stat controlled oil cooler, a FSE high pressure fuel regulator,
lightened flywheel with a AP-Racing green spring clutch
and a Highpower 200i Nitrous Oxide kit with progressive nitrous controller. (100 bhp not used yet)
this is being replaced over the winter in favour of a paxton SN92 supercharger,
crank triggered ignition system with coilpacks (ford units),

Very nice I do like the capri, had a few in my time, would love to own another if they didn't fetch quite so much cash.

But very nice and a very tidy conversion..!!
