Nitrous Bottle Rental..

Pel or anyone,

wheres the best and cheapest place to get a large bottle of nitrous so i can fill my own bottle?
3 of us are looking at going 3 way split on a large bottle,
and maybe able to do cheap refils for the members on here that are localish and running gas,

No!
I dont freeze my small bottles. Especially not Trevs ones :lol:

Its easy to gravity fill an empty from a big one with no hassles apart fdrom the fact you need to invert the big bottle and make a stand for it :)

As Mike says, you can also heat the big bottle to help.
Sometimes you can do this trackside. Heres one of my crew doing the propane assist technique I taught him :lol: :lol:

I like his style, cool as they come, top bloke!
Actually it is safer to heat the bottle rather than cool it, steels have a temperatire below which they go brittle, it depends on the alloy but it is generally aroung 3-4 C where their resistance to cracking dropps off very quickly.
My Dad used to do it with Propane bottles with his Tourch as he worked to keep the bottle pressure up while he was brazing big stuff, used to scare my sister silly :lol: :twisted: :lol: .
