I think i can get it better than 11.98,and it gives me something to aim for :D . The sd1 has a in-tank pump for the carb and ive got a edelbrock for the nos side, but outlets are not 3/8" which i think i would need for a 250 to 275 of gas. :( rich

Fook me Del!!!

What you up to now ???

You do know that one crossifre will spray at least 150hp ???

Ive never been convinced the single injector into the inlet elbow would provide even distribution to my trumpets, but was happy to use upto a 150 shot.
I fit another injector in the elbow to help distribution.

Later i tried another setup and fit 2crossfires pointing at the roof of the plenum and this worked just as well. I then rigged up the progressive system on these and a second stage on the original elbow crossfires.

As you can see i now have 8 crossfires in the trumpet base for direct port.
This will end up as my main progressive controlled race only system. I will be aiming for a 300 shot on this this year, fed by twin bottles in the boot.
I need to buy 2 new pairs of pulsoids for this and will be doing away with the radial distribution blocks and using Y-splitters similar to Richards BMW new set up.

A road system will provide a mere 75 shot but can also be used as extra on track if some hotrod is edging forward.

That looks ok to me Del!!

The DP system with 8 crossfires will work fine on a 300 shot via a prog controller.

Why do you need to buy new pusloids?? Havent you got 2 pairs already??

My 4.6 will take a full 300 shot in 1.5 seconds off the line with the start power set at 40% with the rest coming in over 1.5 seconds in 1st gear.

I do use a carb with my crossfires mounted up in the plenum roof so I fog the plenum chamber so each cylinder can drag in just what it needs.

You should try a full pass with a clean shut off to do a plug reading.

Despite the wizards notes about running a 500 shot on his 3500 RV8. iIhink you will have trouble going over the 300hp mark on your 4.6 to be honest..

I'm still trying to figure out how he made this number. So far all he can tell me is that he did it on a crude 3 stage system that he cant provide flow data for. So I guess it is bullshit.

Cheers for the tips Perry 8-)

I guess i can save some cash. Which i desperately need to

I will be on the look out for a second hand pair of pulsoids and rebuild them. I will then flow match 2 pair for the DP and a pair for the second/road stage.

So theoretically i can have upto 380bhp DP and 190 second stage.
I will be happy with a decent 200 shot DP and maybe 75 for the road this year but who knows where i will end up.

I got to run the engine in first. Maybe a good excuse for a few 700 mile round trips to work in Portsmouth

I hope to get there a few times but the main event for me will be 9th July.
I have organised the 'Ultimate TVR Shootout'.
We have over 50 of the countries best modified TVRs coming to play. There should be a few running 10's.

Nice SD1 you have there Rich.
Heres a few of my old SD1 pics. I still have 2 in the garage.

Great pics Del!!!

You run your engines in ???
I just bed the cam in and then let it cool for an hour. Then give it varying revs from 1000-2500 for another few mins and then let it idle until I see the cooling fans cut in and out a few times. This time is spent looking for any leaks and checking oil pressure again.

She then gets new oil and filter and one more warm through before she goes racing :)

yeah i have to run it in good and proper. Alls brand new and tight.
20 mins at 3000 rpm then oil and filter, then if alls ok i will drive it to work and back 1 week = 700 miles at a max of say 3500 rpm.
Further oil change then another 2 trips at 4500 rpm.
Another oill change then ready for some decent testing and tuning

Nothing that big no. Just a full rimmer bros stainless system. Thats planned for the sleeper.
Have you had your SD1 on the strip before?
Over 20 years ago mine ran 15.0 @ 102 on crap tyres at York.
2" SUs, 214 cam, DIY porting and a home made exhaust.
