Hi Pel, info you need. fuel pump is EDELBROCK free flow 120gph, this pump has a built in reg so that set to 8psi, fuel lines are 3/8", reg for carb is a Holley one (and this one works) that set to 4 1/2psi . Sd1 has in-tank pump which sucks up the fuel ,then to edelbrock pump that goes to a Y-piece up near bulk head that feeds the nos fuel and carb side which has reg fitted , nos side has another y-piece to supply both fuel soleniods. Yes they are nos plates, both plates are cheater items. All fuel line is 3/8" . Have i missed anything ?? :? rich

Sounds ok for the amount of spray you want to use. But I would still try a flow test of petrol through the plates at full blast to mkae sure you are getting enough fuel when you need it with the gas.

Use whatever fuel jet gives you at least 125 ml of petrol in 10 seconds. Ideally try 150 hp of fuel to the 125hp of gas as a safe rich starting point.

Cheers Pel, a 125 shot on 2nd stage would be the limit i suppose, but with a 50 at 1st stage total would be 175. That should see it into the 12s, or make a mess of the engine :D rich

Hi all, well that last post was poop, cheater stuff is only good for a max of 250. So that puts pay to a 275 shot. Might have to use the second stage gear for the extra if i need it . :? rich

You wont know actual max flow unless you waste some nitrous mate.
You could take the jets out of your plate and flow test the open solenoids to see what they flow and then flow through the plate with no jets etc.

I havent a clue how to test the max flow, the plate is only good for 250, i think to much above that the sray bars tend to split. And waste nitrous  at £60 a re-fill ,are you mad sir , :D rich

Hi Rich,

That's the reason I haven't used N20 on my car. I can't afford £60 a day on top of fuel.

Who says the spray bars split??
I havent heard that one before. The amount you can flow depends on 3 main things. Nitrous line size, solenoid capacity, and the number of holes in the spray bars. I'm not including jets here as this is just to discuss actual max flow rate of the nitrous through your system.

The test is simple. But you will need acurate scales like mine. These days you can buy postal sclaes on ebay that are really good for about 30 quid.

To do the test you will need all the stuff connected. But the spray bar plate will need to be in free air outside the manifold. You need at least 850psi in the bottle. Weigh the bottle first. Then spray full on for 5 seconds. Weigh the bottle again.

The amount of weight loss of the bottle can be used to give a pretty accurate hp rating based on the jets you have fited.

Then we do a fuel flow test to make sure there is enough to match the nitrous at the right jet settings. Then run the fuel test again with even bigger jets or no jets at all to see what the max you can get from the fuel system is.
The fuel side is the most important to be honest.
My nos ystem maxes out at 300hp. but my fuel side will flow 410hp. So i know I have some in reserve to be able to start testing with a rich mix so I can work back down from there :)

If you decide to do a flow test we can discuss in more detail.

Regards
Pel

I think we will be talking in more detail on the test side. The cheater fuel soleniods are ok for 400hp max, nos soleniod is 200 hp. So looks like the testing will be done. :) rich

If your main fuel pump has enough flow to feed the engine flat out with enough in reserve to feed the nos side + 40% you will be ok.

If not then you could just make another tapping into the tank for a second fuel pump. Or stick a small 1 gallon tank in the boot to feed the nos side with its own pump...
I think you are serious about getting this 11 second PB aint ya??
