Hi Rich
I'll do that wiring diagram for you shortly.

When I did my 1st ever 3500 build I was told by Real Steel that a 75shot would be max for the engine.
But I fitted a 2 stage plate setup (holley) and ran 50+100 with no probs apart from traction issues. The engine was a bit detuned to run gas though. Kept the low 8:1 comp etc.
Then swapped to the Wizards setup with a controller and she ran quicker with just a 100 shot of gas. So I know an old low comp V8 will take up to 150 of gas ok. The beauty of your car is that its auto. So the hard hit of the gas tends to get softened out by the tranny. But you need to make sure the tranny can handle the increase in power.
I dont see why you could not do a 50 shot off the line on the pedal switch, then stick another 50-75 on with a button once you get to 2nd gear. I would start with 25+50. Then try 50+50.

I've now got the 4.6 which is stock apart from the cam and my home porting etc. As you know I'm running 200, 225 and 250 shot while I'm experimenting.

Tail end of last year I had a wiring fault at the track and bypassed the controller to a push button. This is my lad sticking 200 on just after he gets rolling.

the tranny should be fine,it was built with nitrous in mind and the torque was made for it, Thanks for the wiring diagram Pel much appreciated. another ??, what is the difference between a 37 deg AN and a 45deg AN, thats what on the nos web site, is it just the angle or something to do with the threads?? :)

It will no doubt be the angle of the cone shaped bit of the fitting.
I've only ever used -4an fittings. I've bought them from all over the place. But I've never been asked what angle I want?

Have you got a link to the info on the website?

Rich!
I left you a voicemail with 50,75 and 100 shot jet sizes for a sniper plate. I'm not sure if yours is a cheater plate so I'll get that info tomorrow most likely.

ive got 2 cheater plates, that is if the cheater plates have loads of holes in the tubes??, bottom plate 1st stage, top plate 2nd stage, ive got some old jets which i was told are a 50 shot 032 and 043, ive got jets for 75 and 100 and 125 shot, i know a 25 shot is low, but i havent got a lsd axle and only road tyres, if they hold i will try 50 on 1st stage, although ive heard real steel has got 25 shot jet sizes in :) rich

well the 2 stage worked once at retro due to low pressure, just weighed the bottle ,when empty 15lb it is 16.8lb so that explains the low pressure all day :( , not to worry nth weald in 2 weeks and a full bottle to play with, :D rich

old post revisited. well the 2 stage works fine for me but know i need more gas, with traction 1st stage will be 50, 2nd stage would it be ok with a 100 or 125 shot once in 2nd gear or to risky. rings have been opened, plus its an auto box. Due to no traction at nth weald at the moment these are the settings, 1st is 35 and 2nd is 75. any thoughts peeps :D rich

Rich!
As long as you have good tyres and can get some grip I dont see why you cant hit a 50 off the line and stick a 100+ on in 2nd gear ??

But for Gods sake do some fuel flow testing.
Remind me again of the fuel system you have?? What pump for the nos side?? What size fuel lines from pump to the engine bay / regulator etc.. Give us a blow by blow account of what you have from the tank to the fuel solenoids??

You are running nos plates so the jets are at the plate inlet connections arent they?
This makes it difficult to do accurate fuel flow testing unless you can lift the plate out over a bowl to catch the fuel and measure it?

You need to be able to flow 100ml's of petrol in 10 seconds per 100hp as a rule of thumb. This should give you a slightly fuel rich setting.

Get it right at this stage while flow tersting on the driveway and you can avoid some nasty mishaps :)

Rich is good!
By that I mean the petrol flow, not you ;)

If you can max out your system by running fat you can always tune back the fuel to match the gas on small systems like ours.
