Drilled and tapped my manifolds to take the fogger jets, did it the right way too, Made a jig, drilled so they are all square, as close as I dare to the edge of the face so they clear the TBs, looks the nuts :D :D
Started dummy build so I can work out the plumbing, offered up the Rcoker covers, DONT FRIGGIN FIT, jets are in the way!!!!!!!!, not a lot but enough just not to let the covers slip onto the heads, Looks like Im getting new covers cast :sob :sob

Do you want me to lick the covers over with a mill? Or are the jets just too much in the way :?:

Ian, Thanks for the offer, I think I can notch the covers, If not I may well mill a pocket out and Tig a piece in behind. its not a great deal of interference, but enough not to let yje covers bolt down, The centre injectors clear the cover because of the carb cutouts on the cover its the outer ones that are the problem,.
Just had another look, the covers are very thin at the point of interference, I will try a kiss with a die grinder and see what happens, if I break thrum its now a case of getting a small patch fitted behind the cutout, and then clearancing on the mill

What covers are you using?
Would you gain clearance in the right area if you used P6 covers, for example?

Ian if you can find a set of the old buick covers they are made of thin sheet steel and could be 'adjusted' with a few well placed blows (sorry - taps) with a hammer. I don't have a set but maybe someone here has?

Ah well. T'was just a thought.
The Buick covers suggestion sounds quite good. Even if they do look awful!

Ian
If you get stuck. I have a set of chrome edelbrock covers. But they have a wanky great steel adaptor flange that you have to fit on the heads to adapt them to the rocker covers. If they are any good to you, I only want 50 quid for them.

Thanks for the offer Perry, But I allready have a set of Moroso SBC covers and adapters, cant get them on either because of bulkhead clearance issues. I have checked and double checked as to why the jets hit the covers, its not because they are incorrectly fitted as the jets only run 0.005" along the length of the manifold, so its not that, but I did notice that I only interfere on the P/S front and the D/S rear, so somewhere the Rover parts are not square to the inlet manifold face, I have a feeling its not the rocker covers, but something to do with the mounting of the rocker cover to head is not square to manifold face, Im going to measure up the distances tomorrow, TBH, my measurements still work out ok with clearance of the jets on the D/S front, and all the rest of the jets are close enough not to matter.
