Am I correct in thinking that you can expect a small loss of power when using LPG and that to compensate for this, ideally, you should have a large compression ratio?

I might convert.

You do get a loss of power because the calorific value of LPG is about 3/4 that of petrol. Fuel economy suffers accordingly too..

Raising compression helps, wouldn't like to say how much though.
