I'm planning to buy a P38, and I've found a very nice one. Problem is that it hasn't got LPG. So:
Anybody got any recommendations on an LPG system that works well on a P38 that one can buy as a kit?
I've been quoted 2K for an install which seems a bit steep.

Hello,

I just finished a LPG conversion on my P38.
I have done some investigation before I decided which LPG system to fit.
For me it was very important that the supplier not only sold me the kit, I also wanted the software and everything I needed to install the system myself and set it up myself afterwards.
So here is some info:
- Prins is commonly known as the best system around but is very expensive
- There are a few Italian systems on the market like Lovato, Landi Renzo
- There are Polish systems on the market like King, Bigas, AGIS and Lecho.

Here are some links of suppliers I had a good feeling about:
4-Tech autogas
Tinley tech

I bought a lecho system from 4-Tech autogas for +/- GBP 700,- without the tank. It comes with complete instructions and is pretty straight forward.
The only odd thing is I can not give more information....I had some trouble to make communication with the LPG computer. Turns-out the interface lead is faulty so I am waiting for a new cable in order to set-up my new system.

talk to Tinley- they have been very helpful to my Dad and I over the past couple of years, they should be able to advise on what would work well i reckon.

No connection to the aforementioned company, blah blah, just a happy customer

I used Tinley for my van. Only ever been 90% happy with their stuff....

So far,
Tinley (BiGas) £920
RPi (OMVL) £1420 (via their PartsRange shop, including the obligatory Magnecor leads...)
4-tech (Agis) £952

I could do with somebody who has one fitted to see how they got on......

Done loads of P38's with OMVL Dream 21-N (now called Dream-obd), no problems or issue at all.

Do you sell kits Badger?, or just complete installations?

Chris, there's no point in me selling kits for 2 reasons.
Firstly, I'm in the north of Scotland so the carriage costs would make it impractical unless you were close enough to consider collection....?
Secondly, my supplier forbids the resale of equipment in kit form! (I suppose they're trying to protect the brand).

First issue is solvable. Not so sure about the second.

I could just do with alternative pricing on the OMVL system as that seems to be the best, and I can only find one supplier of OMVL kits......
Any suggestions?

Very interested in this thread......just bought an immaculate 70k miles 1998 4.6HSE. After driving from south Kent to Glasgow I really want LPG, but I seem to be getting quoted £2k for supply and fit.

Badger, I'm in Scotland as well.....how much could you supply and fit a kit for.......or do you know of anyone who will supply a kit for me to fit myself?

I have been recommended a BRC kit as being the best.........this is a minefield! I'd really like a solid recommendation for something that I can get my hands on. If not, the only option is the £2k installation which makes the whole thing less attractive.

I'm surprised this is so difficult.........it's like a black art!

I would drive it around for a couple of months to find out if it has any other major faults before spending a fortune on a gas conversion.
