forklift tank

Post by oilyfingers »

Hi guys, I have gained possession of a 70l lpg tank that was mounted onto the back of a fork truck. Question is can I use it on a road vehicle?

Road vehicle tanks have pressure relief valves, a liquid takeoff (i.e. the pickup pipe inside the tank is long and reaches the bottom of the tank), a level gauge and a solenoid on the output feed. And a filler.

I guess if you have all of those, you can do it, but whether it meets the necessary regulations that ultimately mean you won't get it approved and hence no insurance I don't know.

It has a hand valve for takeoff/isolation, gauge, pressure relief & filler point/fitting.
