Poor Running AG SGI Sequential kit.

Post by task »

Hi all

I have a AG SGI type II (I believe) Sequential LPG system fitted to my Range Rover.

Under low rev acceleration the engine stutters and seems to have a large flat spot.

Engine works fine on petrol. This has been an issue over two different engines, I upgraded the engine last year and the issue remained.

The fault light on the LPG system does display when the issue occurs and also sometimes when it does not.

The LPG system works fine once the revs are higher.

Any ideas?

The system is a little alien to me and I'm not far off the stage of replacing the whole front end of the system. I have a 3000 mile plus holiday to do next year so ideally would like to do some of that on LPG :D

For reference the engine has the following;

4.6 block
new "stage 3" heads
new distributor
new power-spark HT leads
new coil
new cam & followers

and as mentioned pulls like a train on petrol.

Thanks

I'd start checking for air leaks anywhere in the vacuum system.

After that then ignition components, especially leads, would be my next port of call.

Thanks Rossco,

I replaced all the vacuum hose with new silicone items and replaced all the ignition components before I swapped the engines over, neither had an affect on the running of the LPG system.

Does that include all the small bore vacuum hose to the vacuum chambers?

Leads really need to be something of the ilk of Magnecor
