what i was wondering is what sort i need 1,2,3,4 wire ? ..and as i only need it for the LPG thingy does it need to be powered or are they self powered by the interaction of the gases ????

I'd use a heated sensor just simply for the fact that it will get up to temp quicker.

Some wire colours here:

(Can't see the listing as internet here at work is totally locked down- except v8forum :D)

I'd say you need to use the one specified by the LPG ECU supplier.

If this is impossible, there are wideband ones (with their own electronics) with a programmable output which could be set to pretty well any requirements. Costly answer, though.

Thankyou Dave :) ....

the sensor i have came off a volvo 940 and i managed to find a wiring diagram for one and the only connections i can see are .RED = power for the heater , BLACK = earth ( signal & heater ) & WHITE = signal

it just depends on output ...which i may be able to check with a volt meter once its fitted and running before connection the control ECU ??

what do you think Dave ? :)

Not got any experience of LPG. The figure I have for petrol is 0.45v at stoichiometric. But that's from the MS site - I'm not sure they cover all types of sensors.
