Rover v8 3.9 valve springs & boost?

At what boost will std springs (& cam) be ok with?, keeping well below the max RPM, thanks

The cam wont care...and presumably if keeping a standard cam you dont intend to be using much boost anyway, so wouldnt worry too much.

Read the post properly...

Not at all....standard cam will work perfectly fine with boost. And if engine etc is already together and in the car....not really a lot of sense pulling it all apart unless he really wants to.
And likewise with springs...the fact it is still a standard cam and most likely low boost and has stated low rpm..there just isnt anything in that area to be concerned about, unless say the parts had 200k on them and they probably need replaced anyway.

Yes, I would have thought a non STD spec cam would be when you have forged pistons rods etc, Im on Rover cast pistons so thats why i fitted a new STD cam & followers.

If it was a new build and you were actually buying a cam, I definitely would have bought something better than standard.

I stripped the engine & drilled tapped the mains for cross bolting, amongst my new RV8 parts I have was a cam, specs of 200 @50" & lift 433" in & ex'. so I used that.
For a road car to smoke about in, I thought that would work quite well....

The question is though, at what level do you need rods, pistons & springs?

When you cross bolted the mains, did you have the block crank tunnel line bored ?
