Sprintex S/C, what grease?

Hi All,

The Sprintex supercharger on one of my RV8s has been running well for 10k+ miles in my ownership. I have changed the oil for the front bearing, I should probably grease the rear bearing.

Can't find much info re: grease spec, so I'm probably going to use Red Line CV-2 synthetic grease, comments and suggestions please!

Can you see what bearing it is? number? Does it have a dust shield?
I think I would find out what bearing it is and look for a spec sheet for that bearing at the max rpm for your use.

Looking at that thread:

it looks like the rear bearings are sealed. No idea if yours is a similar unit? Replacing the grease/oil in a sealed bearing will be difficult to get the correct quantity/spec. I think if it was me I would replace the bearings or leave as is if there is no play and they are smooth, and not try to re-pack them.

Thanks SuperV8,

The 75W90 will be for the front bearing (it has an oil reservoir), there is a grease nipple for the rear bearing. I'll have a look for part numbers

Finally got back to this, can't see any part numbers without dismantling, so I've bought the Redline CV-2 Synthetic Grease, operating temp up to 500'F is hopefully enough
