A while back my supercharger ate itself and i've been in the slow process of rebuilding/upgrading it. At the last hurdle now!

Had my new turbo compressor wheel machined and the house machined to match:

Anyone have any ideas about very high speed seals?
I'm struggling to find a seal that can cope with 80,000rpm. Works out about 60m/s but most good rubber type seals max is <20m/s.
I found one type of seal which the marketing blurb quotes a high enough surface speed but I can only buy 10 for £1000!
Dimensions are:
Seal OD 35mm
Shaft OD 15mm
5mm thick. although 7mm should fit.

I have an SKF seal of the corret size but only 20m/s surface speed spec. At the moment i'm thinking of running with this and keeping a beady eye on the oil level.
Any ideas welcome
Tom.

All I know Eriks does custom Teflon seals too at a price per piece.
Ukblowers at Solihull sorted mine when I needed high speed seals that where capable to handle Methanol as well.
Paid about 200 something quit for four custom made Teflon double lip seals just a few years back.

Nigel Jenkins at UK Blowers should be able to help.

Thank for the suggestions.

One more point i'm thinking about - Oil level. I'll start a new thread.
