Using heat on an inlet manifold

Post by 30EK42 »

I've got a carb type manifold with a load of seized in fixings, bolts, studs, etc.
My initial instinct is to heat the whole thing up with the big roofers propane torch I've got.
Obviously I'll try to heat it evenly and cool it slowly, but I'm still worried that it will warp all over the place.
Anyone tried this with successful results ?

Can you fit it in the oven, it will heat more evenly. I believe it is not recommended to heat ally components over 200 degrees

Unfortunately my oven just isn't quite big enough, so I guess that I'll just have to be careful with propane torch.
