Rover V8 - replacing Strombergs with HIF44's

I have searched for this on this forum, honest - please let me have a pointer to it if I've failed to find it!

I want to replace the Strombergs on my 8.13cr 3.5 V8 with SU's. Partly because I've had difficulties setting up Strombergs before now whereas I'm very familiar with the HIF44, but also because I've had a brand new pair sitting on my shelf for some years waiting for their time. I'm on a standard ERC 2159 inlet manifold.

Question is, what needles? Couldn't get a convincing answer out of Burlen, but somewhere at the back of my brain says this is a routine mod. Any advice and experience?

Cheers

Phill

IIRC, late P6 had HIF carbs. But things like the CR likely different. And heads - if yours is a later engine? But may be a starting point.

IMHO, well worth fitting a wideband O2 sensor with readout. So you can see the actual fuelling under all conditions. Takes the guesswork out of it.
