Holley Or Facet Fuel Pump

Post by john 215 »

Hi,

My Facet Red Top fuel pump has just shat itself this evening, outside lane of the A1 of all places ! while I am replacing it do you gents think its worth going for a Holley Blue top ? Or stick with a red top facet ?

A few details....Rover 4.6 with a weber 500 used for street use and pump mounted at rear.

Thanks for any thoughts,

Cheers John

I have no experience of the Holey but the facet is working fine for me. It does have to be mounted correct ideally vertical with the outflow higher than the inflow otherwise vapour / air can get trapped in the pump which will significantly shorten it's service life.

Carter pump, reasonably quiet and can suck air without ruining itself.

Used a lot by GT40 crowd

I use a Pierburg pump on my 4.6 with the Edelbrock 500 mounted down in front of the tank.
