17D00001A/B R.R CarbpulsairMan 9.35:1cr 1983-85 I think what you have as a 0 will actually be a D

second one at a guess is a Morgan 3.5

Without a photo I am only guessing - there are only two round identifications that I am aware of

If its cast into the block then its the date identifier - year in the middle and then an arrow showing the month on the clock face around the outside.

If its stamped then then only one I have seen is the BL Symbol

I am afraid not, the best you could do is possibly tell whether it is a P6 or not but even that is doubtful. Without an engine number your kinda stuck with what the engine capacity is and a few other ways to narrow it down to whether it is a 4x4, P6 lump if its a 3.5

Any one know what this is out of?

Post by stagcar »

Hi,

Just wondering what the engine in the manta was out of.

Looks to have a p6 timing case with p6 rockercovers and a sd1 front pulley

I thought it was p6 but i think it may be sd1 the number is 10a37187

Can't seems to see it in the list.

Cheers

I had a look on one of the RV8 engines I have kicking around today and wonders if anyone can help med with identifying it...

it has 9,35:1 CR
enginenumber under the left head says 56D22214A

On the engineblocks side, behind the starter engine I found these WYF15 and HRC2411 and behind the flywheel it is a letter J

Under the rockercovers I find the numbers HRC 2479 and I4

it also has bolts for the mains through the sides of the engine block and some kind of mountingbracket welded in behind the flywheel on the opposite of the starter engine

the heads also uses less bolts than the other engines I have.

Thanks guys

Sven

I picked up a load of spares (abandoned project) last week and on checking the block the number is S48300118D which doesn't appear on the list

Any ideas anyone?
