Hello,

I found a 3.9 block (two bolts main cap) with strange number stamped :

RN 00 9492
N°1 79 92

Can it be from V8D or other specialists ?

Could you please identify this engine for me, ie size 3.5 or 3.9 Rover, Landy, Range rover, thanks in anticipation. 30A0003358.
We are all individuals.

I have an early RV8 in a Triumph Stag.

I have tried to workout where this particular engine is from without success. The engine number is 56822635C and it is stamped on the rear of the block on a flat area of the bell housing (rather than the side, under the head). The comp ratio of 10.5:1 is stamped next to the engine number.

Any of you chaps got any ideas.

Dont know exactly but the engine number being at the back usually points it to being P5 era. Its definitely an early engine.

Rover P5B IIRC. 10.5:1 cr. There should be a suffix letter at the end of the numbers.

Just checked, again. There is a capital letter c about an inch away at the end of the numbers, and above.
