Engine number

Hi, I have another engine fitted to a kit car that I bought, but there is no number in the usual place near the dipstick tube, the number I did find was stamped on the back of the block at the top near where it bolts to the gearbox, it is 84019842D, anyone have any idea what this relates to?. I believe that that engine is an early p6 or p5 . Any ideas? Many thanks David.
