Newbie needs advice

Hi, I am new here and new to RV8. I recently had the chance to get a new 4.6 short engine and some cylinderheads and the plan is to build an engine that will replace the tired 3.5 V8 in my 1989 LR 90. Since the car is pretty much original I want to keep the SU´s and all the auxiliaries to not change the look.
The block looks brand new to me. The enginenumber is XM46D305L25. Does anybody know where that number comes from? It seems not to be a rover number. Enclosed I am sending some pictures. It has the standard liners. Should I give the a try or are they going to slip instantly? The plan is to run the engine with a 75°C thermostat.
The heads look also like new but seem to be ported.
The two cams gave some numbers on them. Can anybody recognize from the numbers what sort of cams they are?
I want to build 4x4 engine, so not looking for extreme tuning. I am not even shure, if I should rather go for standard heads for my application.
I am sure there will be more questions coming when I start, so thank you in advance for all the help.
Regards, Peter
