I've had all the parts on the shelf in my workshop for nearly 4 years but no time to assemble them.
Hoping to fire it up over the christmas break and then its going in a Defender.

Oil system now plumbed in.
Oil is supplied through the front and rear of the block. With mains measuring 3.25" in diameter you cant have enough oil flow.
The twin feed picks up the end of the drivers side lifter gallery and helps to even out the flow to the rearmost mains.

How did you get the screw in bung thing out ? I bent allen keys trying to get mine out, even heated the surrounding ally up a bit . Just wanted to clean the galleries out of an engine that had chewed up all the bearing shells .

It was a lot easier with this being a cast iron block. I just put a lot of heat on both of them.

It lives.....the Beast is awake....all 455 cubic inches of her.
I hate breaking cams in, it's always one of those bottom twitching moments.
I had intended to post a video but the audio quality on the one I did is terrible so I'll do another video tomorrow.
