Hi all I have a stroker rover engine and trying to get a supercharger to go in my 34 project
Reverse water pump will help to get belt on super charger but can I use intermediate front cover with oil pump on my old style engine ?
Not taking anything apart as yet but can it be done ??

Using intermediate front cover??

Re: Using intermediate front cover??
Good question. If you are doing it the other way, the crank nose is too long and so you need a spacer to go over the outside of the crank to clamp the pulley to the crank bolt.
If you go the other way, then the crank will be too short (by about 1/2 an inch I think), so you might need a longer crank bolt and to make a spacer to extend the crank...
Sounds experimental to me!
Chris.

Re: Using intermediate front cover??
It depends on which old style engine you have. The keyway on the cranks that suit an interim cover is longer to pick up on the oil pump/cam chain cog and pulley.
3.9's and tvr's with interim front covers have this longer woodruf key. A longer slot for the key can be machined into the crank nose of earlier engines.
