Crankcase ventilation - None!

Post by paulsv8manta »

You guys are never going to believe this! This probably will have an impact on my previous post - Kangaroo engine.

I was getting wisps of smoke / fumes coming out of the crankcase inlet filter on the near side rocker cover. I surmised there must be a blockage somewhere along the way. Disconnected the flame trap, clear as a bell, eventually found the blockage at the inlet manifold, tried everything to shift it, chemicals, sharp implements, air line.what I found was the manufacture (Rover) had not drill it through.
Below is the link to the photos, I hope.

Wow, actually can believe it!
I had a strange idle problem years ago, couldn't get it to idle below 1200 rpm, eventually tracked it down to one of the threaded holes under the inlet manifold which used to hold the coolant antifreeze plate thingy (which I wasn't using) had broken through into the manifold and sucking in air.
