Range Rover 630R Engine

Post by Spongo »

Well I finally started to strip the engine in the 630R after finding the oil pump drive nearly stripped, good news is that the cam is totally mint not a mark on it so I have decided to rebuild myself with new bearings a new oil pump (standard so it doesn't overstress the oil pump gear) and some new lifters as they were rattley (probably due to oil contamination).

I must say though that some of the engineering I cam across that was done by Overfinch is completely rubbish like grinding bolt heads off to make the water pump fit

They did go bust around that time as I recall, so the current Overfinch is not the same as the old one.

True and now they only do bodywork and showy stuff, still at least the prognosis for the engine is not quite so bad :)
