oil pressure sender

Post by paulsv8manta »

Hi guys,

wired up my after market oil pressure gauge to the original rover sd1 oil pressure sender and getting max out readings.

Checked the unit with a ohm meter and it reads 291 ohms normal, and when pressurised 10.3 ohms.
I have an old unit on the side and checked that one which reads 8.3 ohms normal and 68 ohms pressurised.

I'm thinking the rover one is shot, am i right?

If that's the case I'm looking at new units i'm not sure which one to go for,
10 -180 ohms or 33 - 240 ohms.?

thanks paul
